Every episode of the match, explained

Match Lens tracks every player through the whole match, recognises the episodes that matter (mistakes, runs, shape, set pieces) and cuts them into clips with the drawing already on them.

Six things analysts do by hand today

Found in the video, not typed in afterwards. Match Lens reads the work that never makes the stats sheet and puts a time-stamp and a frame behind every finding.

  • Mistakes

Lost duels, blind passes, late steps

  • Off-ball movement

Runs in behind, decoy runs, support angles

  • Positional discipline

Distance from zone, line height, compactness

  • Set pieces

    Routines, marking assignments, second balls

  • Weaknesses

Where an opponent breaks (side, phase, player)

  • Clips and post-match

Cut, drawn on and grouped automatically

From ninety minutes to the twelve that matter

A post-match playlist, already drawn on. Episodes are cut into clips and grouped into playlists for the staff meeting, the player review and the next opposition report.

Questions about Match Lens

Which cameras work?

Tactical cameras, club recordings and broadcast feeds. For player-level analysis players should be at least 50 px tall; team shape works even from very high angles.

Do we need event data?

No. Episodes are recognised from tracking and video. Event data, when you have it, is used to cross-check.

Can analysts correct the system?

Yes. Every episode can be confirmed, re-labelled or removed, and identity can be fixed with a click. The system learns the club's vocabulary.

Where do clips go?

Into the Coaches Hub and Analytics Hub as playlists, and into the post-match and opposition reports.
